StateCraft Inc., Africa’s leading governance communication firm, hosted the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki at its inaugural master class session on Friday, February 26, at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos. Themed, 'Did you say change: Game changers of the 2015 Nigerian Elections', the master class session focused on the effect of social media on the outcome of the 2015 elections and the success of StateCraft Inc. in deploying media to galvanize a generation of Nigerians to action. The event - anchored by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu - kicked off with a fire side chat with Sen. Saraki, and wrapped up with a group of panelists including Gbenga Sesan, Executive Director of Paradigm Initiative Nigeria; Seun Okinbaloye of Politics Today on Channels TV; Chioma Chuka, RED Digital Vice President; Joachim MacEbong, Governance Lead at StateCraft Inc., and Kingsley Ezeani, CEO of Redux Digital, discussing the theme of the event. In his address, Saraki spoke on the impact of social media in promoting inclusive and participatory governance. "In the past, if we didn't perform, we won't be kicked out, but now, if we don't perform we will be kicked out by the voters in 2019... we are more accountable now whether we like it or not. Let us seize this opportunity to work together in partnership," he said. Adebola Williams, the Co-founder of StateCraft Inc. spoke about the role of the youth and social media in influencing the change of political power in the last presidential election while sharing insights on the intersection between media and governance.
