Following the selection of co-founder, RED Media Africa, Adebola Williams for the 2016 Mandela Washington Fellowship, President Muhammadu Buhari has reached out with a congratulatory message.
In a statement released by Shehu Garba, the presidential spokesperson through his Twitter page, President Buhari expressed his happiness at the selection.
The statement read, “I wish to convey the goodwill & support of President @MBuhari to the scores of Nigerians and other Africans selected for this year’s Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders who are currently in Washington.
“The President is happy that this international recognition is coming to these young Africans, among whom are some Nigerians including his friend, Adebola Williams (@DebolaLagos) of the successful Lagos enterprise, Red Media so early in their lives.”
He further said, “PMB is anxiously looking forward to their return and the contributions they will be making to the country and the rest of the continent.”
The Mandela Washington Fellowship is the flagship program of President Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) and a key component of President Barack Obama’s commitment to invest in the future of Africa.
